Types of screen, metal and tampo printing techniques for individual advertising:
Tampo printing: This printing technique is ideal for the printing of surfaces such as curved clips of writing instruments. The tampo print technique is an indirect gravure process in the course of which the motive is applied on the writing instrument by means of a tampo. For this purpose, a block filled with ink is required
in which the motive has been etched. The tampo absorbs ink from this block and will print it on the writing instruments.
Metal printing: The technique of the metal printing method is very similar to that of screen-printing.
The application of special inks guaranties, however, a particularly long-standing and permanent life of the printed advertising message on our metal writing instruments.
Screen printing: This type of printing technique is the most common one used for the printing of writing instruments. Screen-printing is carried out by means of highly sophisticated machines, which press the ink
by means of a squeegee through a contour gauge screen onto the writing instrument. In the course of this process, the locations to be printed remain open, that means ink penetrable, whereas the locations not to
be printed remain impenetrable to ink (closed). This process reproduces the advertising message in various forms and designs and in the desired colour shades particularly sharp and in great detail.

Supply of paper artwork: Only reproducible black and white artwork can be used. Not to be used, for
instance: business cards, letter headings or copies. Artwork to be notably scaled down, must not contain
too fine details to avoid that the minimum line weight (positive = 0.15mm / negative = 0.30mm) is gone below
Weight (for 1/1 film) screen and pad printing: Positive = 0.15mm (e.g. line on original background: positive)
Negative = 0.30mm (e.g. readable text on fully printed background:  negative ). 4 colour films for photo

Must always be provided. Proof printing: Should always be included (from the technical printing point of view, there are inevitable colour deviations between print on paper and print on plastic parts).
Printing inks: The existing colour mixing chart allows mixing of all Pantone, HKS and RAL colour tones. Slight colour deviations between the paper swatch and the print on a white background are unavoidable. More pronounced colour deviations on backgrounds of a different or darker colour must be accepted.
Housing print on metal: In spite of maximum care during printing, any subsequent print on metal surfaces has only a limited scratch resistance.
Data carriers: 3.5" floppy disk, ZIP disk or CD-ROM
General information: Files should have the original file name suffixes (e.g. *.tif, *.ai, *.cdr) If pixel images (*.pxc, *.tif, *.jpg) are supplied, their quality will be impaired unless they are touched-up.
Scanned copies/artwork: These should be scanned with at least 600 dpi (not interpolated!). Here original image artwork is always the better choice to allow high-quality printing.
Standard fonts: Arial, Avant Garde, Courier, Futura, President (Present), Serifa, Swiss (Helvetica), Times New Roman, Zurich (Univers), each normal, bold, normal italic, bold italic, Brush Script, English script types each in normal italic and bold italic. Other fonts:Possible if fonts or script types are supplied as True Type fonts (*.ttf), further or similar fonts upon request.
Mac file formats: To be preferred because with artwork sorted by colour only minimum touch-up work is required (no pixel images): Adobe Illustrator up to version 11.0 (*.ai) CorelDraw up to version 6.0 (*.cdr) also possible (major touch-up work might become necessary): Photoshop up to version 8.0 (TIFF, JPEG, PICT, EPS) Quark XPress up to version 4.0 (Document). Indesign up to version 3.0
